PSL 2020: List of Gold category players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the preliminary list of 325 local players who have been assigned Gold, Silver and Emerging categories as well as the list of Gold Category foreign players for the HBL Pakistan Super League Player Draft 2019. The list of 325 local players comprises on all cricketers (the domestic first, second XI squads and U19 cricketers).

Players have been assigned a base category of Gold who have already represented Pakistan at the international level according to this year’s policy. The cut-off date for these records was the same that applied to category renewals of local players that took place last month. The list was reviewed and approved by Nadeem Khan (Coordinator – National Selection Committee) and Imran Ahmad Khan (Head of Player Acquisition & Management PSL).

True to its tradition of promoting young Pakistani talent, at least two emerging cricketers in a squad of 16 are required by teams as an HBL PSL rules. Players need to be U23 as on 1st January 2020 to qualify for this category. Each team can nominate up to two talent hunt discoveries and up to six emerging players.

Pakistan to host two Test match against Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Cricket Board announced to play a test match between Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka in Pakistan after 10 Years. Sri Lanka team visit Pakistan for Test Cricket Reinstatement

Pakistan will play two-test series with Sri Lanka in the upcoming December to return test cricket in their homeland. In a press release, they also reported that both teams have to play Test series in October, but due to some reasons, test matches postponed to December 2019. PCB also stated that the schedule confirmed with the Sri Lanka cricket board (SLC) for a visit of Sri Lankan team in Pakistan.

Shinwari become a part of Qalandars in PSL 2020

First significant changing noticed in HBL PSL 2020, Pakistani fast bowler Usman Shinwari moved from the Karachi Kings towards Lahore Qalandars, according to a media report.

Regulation Request Process

PCB has introduced the relegation request process in HBL PSL. According to this rule if a team send his local player in a relegation process, then it’s one category dropdown. The franchise owner has to tell other five teams about this player, and another team can take this player in its original category.

Qalandars welcomes Shinwari in their teams for Pakistan Super League 2020. Shinwari joins the Karachi kings in 2017 edition and left it in PSL 5.

LAHORE: Former Australian Captain Shane Watson has expressed his feelings for the upcoming 2020 Pakistan Super League. Watson (who also took part in 2019 Pakistan Super League) will now play all matches of fifth edition HBL PSL 2020. Watson enjoyed his game during his previous visit and said that it was the memorable time he spent in Pakistan.

Shane Watson said, “I am very excited to come to Pakistan and play for Super League matches 2020,” adding that “I know there are lots of my fans waiting for my arrival.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a list of 25 Foreign Players

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a list of 25 foreign players who have made themselves available for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Pakistan Cricket Board announced the player’s name for the sixth season of the PSL last month. PCB announced the “Platinum” category’s national captains, including Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, and Mohammad Amir.

In a press, the cricket board released the list of foreign players included top-ranked T20 batsman Dwayne Bravo, Chris Lynn, Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Imran Tahir, Morne Morkel, Tom Banton, and Chris Jordan. All of these fantastic players confirmed their availability for the league.

Due to a “packed international calendar during the February to March window”, some players will only be partially available for PSL tournament 2021. Pakistan Cricket Board announced that:

After the announcement of the 25 international players’ names in the ‘Platinum’ category, the six teams of the PSL agreed on retention decisions before the player draft scheduled for Jan 10 in Lahore.

According to PCB, each franchise allowed a maximum of eight retentions.

If we focus on further details about the players, the PCB said that T20 Player of the Decade Rashid Khan would be one of the prominent attractions of the draft.

Morkel, Rassie van der Dussen, Tahir, Colin Ingram, and Rilee Rossouw were included in the Platinum category.

West Indies’ Gayle was a “major attraction” among the audience. He also represented Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars in previous editions of the leagues. Other players included from West Indies are Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite, Lendl Simmons, and Evin Lewis also took part in the tournament.

“Besides Malan, England’s Alex Hales, who was part of the Kings’ winning squad in last year’s edition, is also on the list. Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, and Tom Banton are also part of the Platinum roster.

Afghanistan players who participated in the tournament are Spinner.

Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi along with Rashid Khan. Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera and Isuru Udana are also included in the list. Bangladesh’s fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman and Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichanne were among the list of Lahore qalandar’s players.

He said the PSL tournament six would be “another amazing and exciting season” since all matches will be played in Pakistan once again.
