PSL 2020: PCB allows foreign players to leave and remaining matches to play closed doors

Due to the reason of the coronavirus pandemic spread across the globe, many foreign players in Pakistan for the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League set to fly back to their home countries. 

The foreign players to confirm their departures according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)

  • Multan Sultans James Vince and Rilee Rossouw 
  • Alex Hales, and Jason Roy from Karachi Kings 
  • Peshawar Zalmi’s Tom Banton, Liam Livingstone, Lewis Gregory, Liam Dawson and Carlos Brathwaite
  • Tymal Mills from Quetta Gladiators

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had said that any foreign player that wishes to withdraw from the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 might do so earlier on Friday.

PCB said, “All players have the right to leave the league.” Players from England had put forward a withdrawal request, it added.

On Friday afternoon, The PCB announced that the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 would proceed as planned. However, the match will play behind closed doors, the board said. Only event official personnel will be allowed to enter.

The PCB also added, “All players and players support personnel has given the option to withdraw from the HBL PSL 2020 should they wish to do so.”
