Pakistan Super league 2023 | PSL Overview (2016-2023)

According to PCB rules, Karachi Kings will kick off the PSL 2022 by playing against Multan Sultans. PSL 7th edition will play in Pakistan, reported by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman. Lahore and Karachi had to host PSL’s upcoming edition reported by PCB. It confirmed that PSL 7 played from 27 January to 27 February 2022.

PSL 2022 draft took place in December 2021 in Lahore, and those players who committed to play all matches in Pakistan were selected. Breaking news was the release that Karachi will host fifteen matches and 19 games of PSL played in Lahore.

Pakistan Super League 1st Edition:

The first PSL was played between five teams in the United Arab Emirates from 4 February to 23 February 2016. The final match of PSL had played between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators & United won the Pioneer title of PSL by six wickets.

Pakistan Super League 2nd Edition:

In the second edition of PSL 2017, Peshawar Zalmi defeated the Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs. The final match had played in Lahore due to the struggle of PCB. In the closing ceremony of PSL, Darren Sammy received Man of the match because of his blast inning. Kamran Akmal won the “Player of the tournament” title in PSL 2017.

Pakistan Super League 3rd Edition:

In the third edition of PSL, “Multan Sultans” was added to the tournament. Islamabad United won the PSL 3 by defeating Zalmi on 25 March 2018. The playoff and final match of the PSL 3 season had played in Pakistan cricket stadiums. Luke Ronchi, an Islamabad United player, had won two titles man of the match and man of the series.

Pakistan Super League 4th Edition:

In the fourth season of PSL, the last eight matches had played in Pakistan, including a final game in Karachi cricket stadium. Zalmi lost the final match against Quetta Gladiators on 17 March 2019. Further information related to PSL 4 is given in the table below.

Pakistan Super League 5th Edition:

In the fifth edition of PSL 2020, matches will play in different cities in Pakistan. PSL’s 5th season starts with a grand opening ceremony and 1st match of Gladiators on 20 March 2020. PSL 5 team squad and Schedule had announced by PCB.
